I'll start be sharing that as the publisher of MusicThinkTank and Hypebot.com, I love the community that's grown because of MTT. I encourage you to contribute not just to this post, but with your comments and essays as well.

What am I up to? Improving both sites and running the booking agency Skyline Music: http://www.skylineonline.com.

What about you?

Hi everyone! I love all the great content that MTT and Hypebot put out. I feel like I'm always in the know because of you guys. I'm especially excited about this article, http://www.hypebot.com/hypebot/2011/11/flexi-of-the-month-club-polish-postcards.html that was posted earlier today. I work with one of the bands that will be featured in Flexi of the Month. They are called Judy Tribune and you can check them out at www.judytribune.com. Thanks MTT, for the networking and the great content!

Hello MTT and Hypebot readers and contributors!

I just wanted to thank all of the contributors to both sites for all of their great work!

I am a Music Business Administration college graduate and I am currently working on my undergraduate in Commerce so it can be hard to keep up to date on music education and news but MTT and Hypebot make it so easy!

I used to be the marketing director at my campus radio station which was a really great experience. Currently, I am just starting a project with a partner to create a website/blog for music reviews, artist interviews and news. Any tips or advice from you all would be greatly appreciated!

Add me on Google+ or follow me on Twitter and lets talk music and tech.

First, let me give a big thank you to everyone that has contributed to MTT in the past. I read your posts almost every day. Your work and perspectives are certainly appreciated.

I am the founder of gigfunder.com. Basically, it's a site designed to let fans crowdfund artists' tours. The artist can even enter in their normal touring expenses and then allow fans to create campaigns with a custom funding goal by location to bring the artist out to the fans' cities. You can sign up for an invite to the launch on the homepage now.

We are 95% done with the programming at this point and are currently tweaking the design and functionality. We are expecting to launch in January!

Any artists interested in learning more or getting in on the site early are more than welcome to email me directly at matt@gigfunder.com.

Thanks!

I might as well too. You guys can check out my bandpage on FB and listen/see the latest. I MUST WARN YOU... its pop lol. OH, and if you would like a contribution for your site, I would love to help :)

Hi everyone!
I'm shelley Champine, founder of Local Music Vibe. Below is an excerpt from our About page. It sums us up pretty well...

Why we love local music
We believe that everyone benefits from a thriving local music scene. You get connected to music you love and you get connected to people in your community. A grass roots scene nurtures great musicians and venues alike. It is accessible, affordable and sustainable for all.

What we do
- Collect comprehensive, relevant information about live music in your town - wherever you live.
- Build technology to list every show by every artist in every club, bar or café in the world.
- Provide effective, affordable tools and services for promoting shows and reaching local music lovers.

Get connected
Whether your preferred connection is web, mobile, social, or personal, Local Music Vibe is there: connecting communities with music.

The music "industry" only promotes about 1% of all live music.
We support the other 99%.

_______________________

For fans, I like to say we're the "Yelp" of live music. When you're hungry for some music near you (big or small), we show you what's available.

Happy Thanksgiving, all! Thanks to everyone for making MTT such a continually great discussion.

I'm a Music Business MA candidate at NYU, though I've also spent 5 years working in various segments of the industry (radio, management, etc.). I'm currently developing my final thesis, a critical analysis of artist development models, and I'd love to talk to any members of the MTT community who are doing interesting things in or have opinions about this area. Please feel free to contact me at kdc285@nyu.edu if you'd like to join the discussion and have your perspective included in the paper (intended for publishing).

I'm also very involved with Weathervane Music, an incredible NPO working to provide resources and career opportunities to sophisticated independent artists while deepening the connection between artists and fans. Check out their and WXPN's documentary series about the birth of a song, Shaking Through, to see some of the amazing work they do, and please consider supporting them in your year-end giving this holiday.

Thanks!

DJ Corps is membership club created by DJs and for DJs to offer Direct-to-DJ music marketing. Hi Everyone,

My name is Jamie Hocking. I've been following MTT for a while now, but this is my first post. My partner and I have been working with bands for the last 5+ years now, mostly with artwork, design & web services. We've recently launched a business called Indievelop Music and our mission is to is to create revolutionary products, services, and solutions that empower musicians to take charge of their careers.

Our first solution for musicians is the website Website For Your Band which has a wealth of resources for bands who need help getting a website up and running. We have information for those artists who want to go DIY, and for those who would like hands on help, we provide design & web services.

We've featured a number of WordPress Themes for Bands on the site so if you're looking for some, our site is a great first place to look.

If you're in a band and you don't have your own website, or need to update your site with a fresh look be sure to check it out. If you have a music industry related business, the site and our services are available to help you too.

If you have a resource to help bands with their website and would like to be included on our website be sure to visit our contact page to get in touch!

Cheers!

Hello everyone!

Discovered Hypebot recently and I am very much addicted. So many ideas, all the time--it's my dream come true.

I am in a band called Deluna. We are from Napa, CA. Just working slow and hard on our first album, and then setting the amalgamation of our research and instinct into motion. Friend us.

Hellooo,
I'm Graham Smith-White. I am a composer, producer, educator, community builder and more in Portland, OR, USA.

I just released an EP for my solar powered recording project, The Sunrise Review, yesterday. Inspired by the Pacific Ocean, River East, River West was composed in Australia and Oregon and recorded during an artist residency at the Sitka Center for Art and Ecology. A musical blend of classic and contemporary, eastern and western styles. Check out

I am also involved in helping lead a musical community organizing initiative called Fair Trade Music. What started as a campaign to establish local standards in trade practices and compensation for live music in local Portland clubs has inspired musicians across the US and Canada to take up the cause in their hometowns. We have recently been endorsed by the International Board of the American Federation of Musicians and are preparing to roll out a concerted national organizing effort in the coming months.

Greetings from beautiful Central Virginia - home to Ravensworth Studios - a music recording retreat and audio-post house. As a recent devotee of Hypebot and MTT, I thank you for providing relevant content and interesting articles which cover the full range of the music industry. Keep up the good work...

We decided to expand the concept of a "project studio" into a professional, custom-crafted, stand-alone facility...located on 16 acres of rolling hills and lush woodlands, with B&B-style accommodations. It's like coming home! Gorgeous views, fantastic food, dream gear, and Neumann microphones...what more could you ask for!

Happy belated Thanksgiving to my American colleagues!

I think what I love most about MTT is that it is a constantly growing archive of music industry knowledge. I'm contrantly reading the new posts as they come, but it's great to surf through the old ones too from time to time, or point friends to them when they're looking for something.

So here's a big, collective HIGH FIVE to all past and present contributors!

All the best,

Alex
