The band Veronica’s fronted by 24-year-old twins Lisa and Jessica Origliasso, recently released a gritty re-recorded version of their 2005 debut single “4ever.” along with a brand-new video for the track.  You can check out the new video here

This is a fantastic little pop song, within 7/8 seconds your in, it’s catchy, pumping along, 35 seconds in and bam! I’m getting swollowed by the chorus….

Cute young girls (no that was the original!) NOW, sexy rock chick girls singing about “we can make the night last forever” well that’s another story, especially at my age, anyway I get it, so where am I going with this?

Firstly the song has been updated:  more guitars and new vocals to bring the song up to how it sounds when the band perform it live and I must say I love the guitars and production approach.

Now there is a big lesson here for songwriter’s both up and coming and those already well established artists - Yes even the likes of Jonas Brothers etc …..

The Veronicas “4ever” is not written by The Veronica’s!  The pop song was actually written by Max Martin  and Lukasz ‘Dr. Luke’ Gottwald  - who collaborated and turned out  a great little pop song!

Many of you may know that Max Martin is not new to song writing or production.  Since his self reinvention in 2008 he has written and collaborated on five number one hits, including “So What” by Pink, “Hot N Cold” and “I Kissed a Girl” by Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson’s “My Life Would Suck Without You” and “3” by Britney Spears.

So if songwriting is your craft or you’re an artist/performer you probably want/need a hit!  Maybe you should consider collaboration or even NOT writing at all if you are a performing artist!   Let someone else do it for you…..

So you know what you need to do right (hopefully!) so don’t say I didn’t tell you

If you been there, done it, got the t-shirt, found this helpful or can relate a useful experience please comment below……..SHOW ME YOU’RE ALIVE!!
