Twestival-fm - What a great idea!

Twestival-fm is an awesome site made by SoundCloud, another pretty cool service, that allows bands on Twitter to upload their music where it can be found on a huge map of the world. This is a blurb from their site:

“Twestival.fm is powered entirely by artists and bands on Twitter. They’re uploading tracks from all around the world for you to enjoy and download. All we ask is that you donate a small amount of money for education and tweet about your favorite tracks.”

This is awesome! Honestly it’s one of the best uses of social media I’ve ever seen, and it is an amazing collaborative effort on behalf of the bands all over the world. Also, this map view of searching for music is pretty damn cool, and fun to use.

And, if you’re an independent artist, this is an awesome place for you to go and represent your home town. You may even be the only band to post music from there, unless you’re in a big city, and you may be able to pick up some local fans as well.

Just thought I’d share this with everyone. This is a great thing, both for artists, and the causes they’re supporting. I definitely give these guys a lot of credit. Go check it out!
