At school I’ve learned that I have to put extra attention to the subjects I’m not that good at. In my case it was French, Latin and sports. All the good grades in history, religion and music were taken for granted. The focus was on getting better in the stuff that I wasn’t that good at.

It took me quite some time to find out that there are alternatives to that approach. Waldorf schools, Montessori schools and other alternative schools use this alternative approach. They put the focus on the qualities of the students instead of the weaknesses.

Yesterday I saw a great quote:
“Success is achieved by developing your strengths, not by eliminating your weaknesses.”
It’s from Marilyn vos Savant. She’s known for having the highest IQ.

Think about it. It sounds quite logical. Weaknesses can be distracting. Eliminating your weaknesses is like eliminating the weed around a young tree. By eliminating your weaknesses, you eliminate some of the distractions that prevent you to focus on your goal, like growing your career as musician.

If you want to be successful, eliminating the distractions is not enough. You have to know what you want and focus on it. The best way to know what you want is to look at your strengths. Your strengths make you unique, give you fun and keep you motivated. That’s what you need when you want to move on, when you want to become successful.

At the “Online Workshop 5 Empowerment Tools for Musicians” I help you to discover and to develop your strengths. I give you some tools that enable you to use them for the development of your career as musician. Do you want a fresh start in the new year? The next workshop starts on January 05. It’s an investment in yourself, the ideal x-mas gift!

What are your strengths?
