NASHVILLE TN - Imagine going to a major music conference, connecting and doing business with music executives, service providers, artists and others from every nook and cranny of the industry worldwide, and never having to leave the comfort of your home or office. Imagine being able to learn from and interact face-to-face with many of the most noted educators in the music industry without ever having to leave your home or favorite coffee shop. No bank-breaking hotels, no outrageous airfares, no smothering crowds, and never having to spend precious time away from your home or business.
That is exactly what you will be able to do at the ‘IC Virtual Music Conference and Expo’, scheduled for January 15-17 2013 and hosted by Indie Connect. The theme of the event is ‘Developing Long Term Success as an Indie Artist’. According to Vinny Ribas, CEO of Indie Connect, the 3-day event will feature over 30 live and pre-recorded expert presentations from around the globe. Each presentation will be followed by a live chat moderated by the speaker.
The conference will also feature a trade show with individual booths featuring every kind of music-related business. The booths are completely interactive, with attendees being able to either chat or video chat with the booth staff, as well as exchange v-cards. Businesses can present product brochures, videos, lectures, clinics etc., as well as sell their products or services.
Artists and record labels will also have their own interactive trade show to showcase their music and acts. Just as with the business expo, exhibitors can show their videos, link to their website, sell their music, show their EPK, add fans to their mailing list, promote their fan-funding campaign and much more.
Lastly, Ribas added, “There will be a networking lounge area in which participants can participate in general chats, topic driven discussions, chats set up by the speakers etc. In other words, you will be able to do everything that you would do at any other music conference except physically shake someone’s hand. In fact, you can do even more because the entire event will be archived for re-visiting for 30 days. That way no one ever misses a presentation that they wanted to see!”
Indie Connect is partnering with nonprofits and businesses to help market to artists and businesses. Ribas confirmed that the conference has already confirmed NSAI (Nashville Songwriters Association International), GoGirls Music, SongsAlive!, Broadjam, The Indie Bible and The Business Side of Music Podcast as affiliate marketing partners, to name a few. They are looking for more organizations and businesses to promote the event around the globe.
Indie Connect, who is hosting the virtual conference, is a business club for serious independent artists, songwriters, musicians, record labels, service providers and other industry professionals. Their goal is to educate artists on how to establish a sustainable music career and to help them connect with people who can help them move forward, regardless of the level they are at right now. The organization has several chapters around the US, including Nashville, New York City, Los Angeles and Biloxi MS, and is expanding quickly.
“This Virtual Music Conference is just a natural extension of our core mission” says Ribas. “Participants will learn how to increase their chances of success as well as connect with people from the music industry worldwide. And by doing everything online and making the event extremely affordable, no one has to be left out because of finances, distance or time constraints.”
