Thousands of voters chose Queen, one of Britain’s most iconic rock bands, to headline their “ideal” music festival, followed by Coldplay, Muse and the Beatles.
The results were taken from a competition, hosted by online ticket marketplace, GET ME IN!, which prompted people to submit their ultimate festival acts in order to win £100 to spend on tickets.
Out of the Top 20 artists’ category, only one quarter were formed after the year 2000, and the majority – including the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and Jimi Hendrix – were all performing in the 1960s, implying that many still have a soft spot for US and UK classic acts.
