Leading online arts and lifestyle brand Paste, announced its platform’s reinvention, with the launch of the Paste Cloud, an innovative service created to stream thousands of exclusive songs, stand-up routines, interviews and concert videos from up-and-coming musicians, filmmakers, video bloggers, comedians, chefs and more.
Since its launch in 2002, Paste has emerged from an online store for independent musicians, to a significant source of reliable music news, and has now become the go-to site for up-to-date, pop-culture news. Now, with the introduction of the Paste Cloud, millions of users will have access to hundreds of thousands of exclusive videos, audio recordings and interviews from the 1960s to today, which is fully accessible to the public for free. Within the archives, fans will be able to listen to never-before-heard music, live performances from years past, interviews with artists and original versions of classic songs. For aspiring artists, the platform allows them the opportunity to stream and showcase their latest work to followers across the globe, and also compensates them for each view they receive from the public.
To celebrate the launch of its new video platform, Paste is giving away $10,000 to the best music video uploaded to the site between now and December 10. Ten finalists will be selected from among all videos—five by Paste’s panel of judges and five that get the most views + shares during the contest. All finalists will receive a year’s subscription to Daytrotter and $100 gift card to Wolfgang’s Vault. One grand prize winner will be selected based on originality, quality of the video and quality of the music and receive $10,000.
“As our Paste platform continues to evolve, we’re thrilled to announce the launch of the Paste Cloud,” said Josh Jackson, Editor-in-Chief of Paste. “This new streaming service will not only open doors for ambitious artists, but it will allow them to further expose their creativity and be heard by new audiences both near and far.”
In addition to the Paste Cloud, Paste recently announced the launch of Paste Monthly, a curated digital magazine, as well as Paste Radio, both of which can be accessed via PasteMagazine.com. Available 24/7, Paste Radio consists of eight live streaming stations that play exclusive tracks from genres including, Rock ‘n’ Roll, Country, Folk, Soul, Indie, ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s.
