The one who is a regular at music concerts or live music shows would understand what we are talking about here, but the first time goers may be clueless about the codes to be followed at such concerts. Surely, majority of who pay hefty price to buy concert tickets go to have a gala time listening to their favorite music and cheering for their favorite musician, singer, rock band etc.
But, there always are few of those in every concert who knowingly or unknowingly manage to create enough nonsense at the venue, spoiling it for many and sometimes for everyone. The point is that it is important to behave in a certain manner and remain within few boundaries and not become a self-centered jerk at one of these public shows.
Here are few points to remember while attending a music concert.
- It is perfectly okay if someone stands in front of you - If you have been waiting for your favorite band to perform at one of the local arenas for over 10 years and you had to shell you out more than half of your last 6 months savings to get the ticket to the concert; it actually is no big deal. The fact is that every such concert has thousands of people like you. This doesn’t give you a license to yell at someone who is standing in front of you in a crowd of thousands.
- Be friendly and not rude - No matter whether you are at a concert of country singers or a rock concert, your basics as a human being should not take a nose dive. Change your mood, dress up and shout to enjoy the concert but spoil it for someone next to you by passing sadistic remarks or ranting about the singer or the musician. If someone brushes against you, understand the fact that you are in a crowd and that is the least that could happen to you and there is no reason to start talking crap.
- Take Care of Long Hair and Sweaty hands - If you have long hair consider locking them in, especially if the crowd is way too dense, and it’d only help even if you do that otherwise. No one should go through the nightmare of your sweaty hair strands brushing against their noses. If it is a might huge arena, it probably is okay to show off your long strands but in smaller venues both ladies as well few of them men should strongly consider keeping their sweaty and smelly strands very much to themselves.
- There is no need to buy and wear t-shirts displaying the band members - You are going to the concert, which itself says you are a fan. This does sound a bit dorky but the fact is too many people with such merchandises can be an eye sore and distraction. People who have just gone to 5-8 concerts in their entire lifetime won’t know about it, but someone who is a regular would have already felt it unless he is one of those self-declared over-the-top hardcore fanshimself, who believes that wearing merchandise is a must to prove that you are a die-hard fan.
- PDA is the last thing you should do at a concert - It is understandable that you want to sing those beautiful words the singer performs right into his or her ears but that should be about it. Hugging and giving warmth to each other while listening to some awesome music is great but many a times one thing leads to another and all of a sudden you become the centre of attraction for all wrong reasons; not to mention your partner comes under the scanner of others as well.It is an ugly sight and no one is interested in such a thing, instead of watching their favorite music stars performing on the stage.
