The Elements Of A Successful Music Blog Pitch

One of the most common questions I hear from musicians is how we get through to so many blogs sucessfully when pitching them? Below, I’ve outlined the format both my co-author Todd Thomas and I have used to pitch countless bands to blogs. Feed The Arts Introduces TIME Funding

FEED THE ARTS INTRODUCES TIME FUNDING WEBSITE FOR THE ARTS
ENTERTAINMENT SERVICE PROVIDERS BENEFIT AND BUILD THEIR BUSINESS WHILE HELPING ARTISTS

NEW YORK, NY (June 4, 2013)—

Feedthearts.com is forever changing the way art is funded by introducing its patent pending TIME FUNDING Model.  Time Funding is a cross between crowd funding and virtual rewards programs allowing fans to donate time instead of money.  Their time is what helps Artists get funded and allows funding of Creative Arts projects with fans earning virtual currency we call ?Helping Hands?.  Helping Hands are then turned around through an advertising revenue share and giving that currency to artists projects posted on the site.  This revolutionary model eliminates the risk of previous crowd funding and traditional funding models.

Difficultly deciding between iMac vs. Mac Mini - Home Recording

Being a college student funding will continue to be a issue for many years. I’ve been looking into an i7 Mac mini and it’s usually costing a very similar price for an iMac (with similar specs). I know maxing the RAM is a must, but I’m wondering if I should invest in a tv instead of an entire mac set up.

Could anyone elobrate the main differences between them?

Local San Diego Talent Goes Big Time

Do you think music defines an area? I do. I mean, certainly some would agree that the grunge scene of the early 90’s would be indicative of the perhaps gloomier surroundings of the Pacific Northwest. Consider the soul-panged anthems that mimicked the gray skies and endless drizzle. You know, the ones that portrayed their youthful rejection of mainstream and sun-soaked America, preferring to venture off alone down an excessively flannelled and dismal path.

Collaberation in Music Through a USB Drive

Ideas have the power to shape our world.  Many ideas are held on to and kept secret in fear that someone else will take them. When ideas are not freely shared they will only have one generation.

Ideas can be crafted in such a way that they can be shared, spread, and morphed by other people. This way the ideas begins to split into ever evolving fractals of the original.

Don’t Give Your Music Away Online – Ask for Something!

You can still make money from selling your music. It just takes more creativity nowadays.

Believe it or not, you can still make money from your music. It just takes a little more creativity then it used to. We’ve dug deep and what follows are our best ideas.

Before you begin raking in the dough, you need a couple of things first. One is your own website. Why? Because you have no control over those aggregators like ReverbNation, BandCamp, CDbaby, etc. Now we like BandCamp and believe it’s the best aggregator, but it’s not your home-base. The thing is,what happens to someone who might really dig one of your songs, but then gets side-tracked by another band on BandCamp? You’ve probably lost them forever. You won’t lose them in the awesomeness of your musical home! I’m a huge proponent of WordPress.org – some of the most usable sites on the web are run by WordPress.org.

TIMING: An Important Aspect Of Promotions For Rappers

Not only do you need to time your release date so that your marketing and promotions won’t get over shadowed by larger, popular, superstar artists (promoting against releases by Jay Z, Kanye, and Lil Wayne will most likely diminish your efforts), but you need to make certain all of your marketing lands around the same time for your artist’s promotions.

New Artist Problem: Music Never Heard

Author’s Note: In this discussion of music distribution I mention my own RRadio Music and “Intro to Indie Artists” programs. There are other options to consider.

———————————————

I received another email this morning from a company claiming to pitch music to “hundreds” of industry insiders. I’m guessing they got my name from RRadio Music and believe I’m in need of help with sending out songs because of the hundreds of artists listed there; that’s not the problem for me or the artists.

By anyone’s measure there is no lack of new songs. There’s also a huge increase in the numbers of songs submitted to online radio stations and music services. Both of these are important facts.
